Battle of the Sexes is a  2017 American upcoming sports comedy-drama movie screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and directed by Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton. The plot is loosely based on the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. The movie stars Elisabeth Shue,  Austin Stowell, Andrea Riseborough,  Steve Carell, and Sarah Silverman, Emma Stone. The movie is preset to be released on September 22, 2017, by Fox Searchlight Pictures.

The 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs became the most observed televised games event of all time. Trapped in the media stare, King and Riggs were on opposite sides of a binary reason, but off-court every was battling more personal and complex fights. Along with her spouse urging her to battle for the same pay, the personal King was also fighting to come to terms with her own sexuality, whereas Riggs gambled his succession and fame in a bid to relive the greatness of his past.
