Wonderstruck-Movie-Trailer-Review

Wonderstruck follows the interconnected stories of two children across the span of 50 years. Ben (Oakes Fegley) lives with his family in Minnesota in 1977 and escapes to New York in search of his father. In the earlier time period, Rose (13-year-old deaf actor Millicent Simmonds), a young girl runs away from her New Jersey home, escapes to New York to find her favorite idol film actress Lillian Mayhew (Moore). In the later time frame, Ben also runs away to search for his missing father in New York after his mother’s death. The 1977 story is told in color, while the other is depicted in black-and-white.

Wonderstruck-Movie-Trailer

Melancholy adult emotion of longing, desire, fear and regret have coursed through the movies of Todd Haynes. Often wrapped in veils of repression, while others have explored the defiant release of performative transformation. Children, with their unfiltered needs and absence of disguise, Wonderstruck, all the more surprising. Alive with the memory of magic of pictures and the mysteries of silence, this is an uncommonly grown-up movie about children, connection, communication and memory.
